Rumanía in fabula: Romanian prose at the LIBER International Book Fair in Madrid


The Romanian Cultural Institute is organising the national stand at the LIBER International Book Fair in to take place between 7-9 October in Madrid.

Over 250 titles from 24 Romanian publishing houses will be displayed alongside translations supported through our Translation and Publication Support, 20 Romanian Authors and Publishing Romania programmes. 17 such volumes have been published in Spain so far, and 10 more are scheduled to be published by the end of the year.

On 6 October, on the eve of the fair, the Romanian Cultural Institute in Madrid and the National Book Centre organised at Círculo de Bellas Artes, the conference "Romanian Literature in Spain". Romanian writers Gabriela Adameşteanu, Ion Vianu, Dan Lungu, Petru Cimpoeşu and Victor Ivanovici spoke about their experience and literary works from before and after 1989. 

The 27th edition of the Liber International Book Fair (www.ifema.es) reunites over 700 publishing houses and 12000 professionals, being the largest editorial event in Spain.
