ROMANIAN BOOKS FOR CHILDREN (RBC)
„2025 Call Session''
The Romanian Cultural Institute, through the National Book Center (CENNAC), launches the „2025 Call Session" for applications within the ROMANIAN BOOKS FOR CHILDREN financing programme (RBC) for the translation and publication by foreign publishing houses of illustrated childrenʼs books and illustrated young adult books written by Romanian writers. Launched in 2025, ROMANIAN BOOKS FOR CHILDREN (RBC) is the first financing programme organized by the RCI in order to facilitate the access of foreign audiences to Romanian culture* and support the presence of childrenʼs books and young adult literature by Romanian authors** on the international book markets, at times when childrenʼs books and young adult literature undergo a significant development and attract increasing interest.
„2025 Call Session" is aimed at titles to be published in 2025.
The financing is granted within the limits of the available budget and, depending on the application files received, there will be selected a minimum number of 3 applications to be financed.
The application files are to be submitted only online, by email (rbc@icr.ro).
The application files will be received from April 7 until May 11, 2025, in accordance with the schedule presented below. The deadline for application is May 11, 2025 (11:59 PM, GMT+2). The assessment will be made by a panel of three independent experts: two selected after a public call for applications, and one representative of The Romanian Writersʼ Union.
Aimed at foreign publishing houses interested in publishing illustrated childrenʼs books and illustrated young adult books written by Romanian language writers, the programme is aimed at facilitating the access of international audiences to Romanian culture and supporting the presence of Romanian authors and books on the international book markets.
